This home was built by a Greek family in 1925. The house is spoken of in a book "A Greek Odyssey" which was written by Helen Zeese Papanikolas. She is the daughter of the man who built this house. Her sister's name "Lula" is written on one of the beams in the storage room. It truly is a treasure. It is said Mrs. Whitmore also lived in this house. The Whitmores had a ranch up in Nine Mile Canyon. They'd supply horses to their friend Butch Cassidy.

Area Recreation: Spring Canyon(just west of town) holds many opportunities for rock climbing, campfires and four-wheel rides. A paved river trail with sitting areas and picnic tables was completed last year, which is only 100 yards away. The Helper City pool was finished two years ago and is a perfect way to spend the summer. Great for the whole family and not too big or busy. Downtown there are several art galleries and yummy restaraunts (Marsha's Sammich Shop and the Balance Rock Cafe). Just up Hwy 6 is the Price Recreation Area with great camping spots and group campfire areas with hiking trails and bouldering areas throughout. Nearby Price has an excellent recreation department and dinosaur museum. The Amtrac stops right here in Helper also, just in case you want to take a scenic ride to Denver or SLC. Helper has it's own elementary school and middle school.

We have truly loved living in this house. It is so full of character! We will miss Helper and all the amazing people here! Call Shawna 435-630-6255 or Damon 435-630-6252 for a viewing.
